Areas of Specialty:
  • Counselor Supervision. I'm an LPC-Supervisor and can facilitate individual and group LPC supervision. [I'm currently taking new interns for counselor supervision. Please use the contact options on this website to schedule an appointment to visit with me about your supervision needs.]
  • I currently work almost exclusively with men and men's Issues.
  • EMDR (Eye Movemet Desensitization and Reprocessing. See the videos page for an overview)
  • Couples Counseling (I do a limited amount of couples therapy depending on availability and case load).
  • I can offer multi-day intensive therapy experiences upon request.
  • Want to walk-and-talk? Let me know and we'll get out of the office for your session. Unfortunately I can't control all weather or other variables. It's not an everyday event but it's possible we could bump into someone you know while outside of the traditional 4 walls of the therapist's office. Let's address these concerns in advance if this is something that is a problem for you.
So....Are you ready to do the hard work of change? If so, let's get started. I'm not the kind of counselor that utters a few "uh-huhs" while you talk for an hour. I will challenge you and support you through the process of change and goal seeking. I'm much like a coach, teacher, learning guide, and honest friend. My straightforward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach will teach you how to confront irrational beliefs and behaviors. I will challenge you to explore new ways of thinking and believing while giving you tangible skills and tools for your journey.
I'm best suited for someone seeking change in personal growth areas. The following client populations fit well with me :  men and men's issues, goal setting and reaching, career counseling, veterans with PTSD, and couples. You can see my bald head on TV if you click on the VIDEOS link.
In the world of counseling there are many different theories, approaches and concepts.  Every counselor is required to adhere to a guiding theory.  Generally, this guiding theory is a published and recognized counseling theory.  My guiding theory is called Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). This theory focuses on changing behaviors through the process of identifying and disputing irrational beliefs, and working to establish more rational belief systems. Please note, this theory is not one of the more "touchy-feeling" counseling theories....I'm here to help you accomplish your goals and get you on your way. If that's not what you're looking for then inquire with me about appropriate referrals, or checkout the bios of the other counselors under the About Us page.
I accept several different insurance plans. My cash rate per session is $120.  Inquire if I'm in-network with your employer's EAP (if so, then there's no cost to you for the number of session approved by the EAP).
